I bought the Whynter LLC ARC-14S 14,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner. It uses only 10.5 amps as much as the 8000 BTU unit I had.

Things I like

1-You do not need to empty the water pan, the water evaporates out the hose it will handle 4 pints per hour

2-Its a dual hose, it doesn't suck the air out of the foom your cooling.
The air that it needs comes in from outside, this makes it much more efficient.

3- It very well built and has a washable electrostatic filter, thats very nice not junk. This thing cools an area 211sq ft in a hurry, it does not run all night, the compresser cycles on and off at night, my other unit never did cycle, it ran all night and that cost more money to use it.

4.- This is the best dual hose A/C unit you can buy. HOME APPLIANCE SHOWPLACE sold it to me for $427.00 delivered, I had to wait because of a back order, it was a killer deal and well worth the wait, they are good to work with.

5- My cost to run this is 9 cents per kilowatt, so its about 11 cents per night, which is much better than cooling the whole house with the whole house A/C unit every night. I'm a lot cooler at night, its quiter than the other unit I had.

Powerful cooler that does exactly what it should. Does great even in humid climates and it's much better looking that a window unit.
